Luke Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Hello, new to the forum, i purchased an aftermarket handbrake from a trusted seller on ebay, its a citroen handbrake and it has the citroen badge on it, it was also secified for my model the C3.Ive since received it and it seems simple to fit but im not sure how the old handbrake handle and button comes off.Its a 05 plate normal C3,can anyone help or know of any sites that can help. cheers luke Quote
Ronin Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 the button should unscew off, the handle should pull off with some appliedforce to it. Personally I would get hold of a sleeved upgrade instead that just fits over the top of the existing handle like a chrome tube and comes with a tight fitting cap for the release button. Remember, citroen logo's can be bought quite readily and stuck on. It doesn't mean that they are actually meant for that vehicle. If it was It should have come with fitting instructions! Contact the seller if in doubt. Quote
Hook Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Ronin is spot on.I foolishly bought some 'sports' pedals on flea-bay a couple of years ago, listed as 'fits fiat seicento/cinqucento'. when they came, it was immediately obvious that they wouldn't-they were huge!! These things would have graced a truck! Ended up giving them to a mate of mine who fitted them to a Mitsubishi Shogun!Don't believe everything you read, these guys are in it to make money, plain and simple. When you see 'fits Citroen etc' if it's not a genuine citroen accessory, be wary. Quote
