Xantia Boot Light Switch

Hello from New Zealand. The light in the boot goes on and off, but I cannot work out where the switch is located. Anyone know?

As far as I can remember, it's built into the lock mechanism in the same way that the courtesy light switches on the later mk2 Xantias are. Try operating the lock with the boot open to see if it operates. If it's not there, it may be in the area surrounding the lock catch, which, I seem to remember, is spring loaded and moves when the boot opens. I never had any trouble with it on any of my Xantias so I'm guessing a bit!

i seem to remember its a tilt switch in the tailgate

Yes it is a tilt switch which operates using a ball bearing. Mineworks very intermittently. As it works on gravity and I live in Tasmania it probably works in reverse to you folk in coldandfoggyland.
