How on earth do i remove them i think they have a weird kind of retaining clip???

Model, Year, Petrol or Diesel & position of filter would help! But try putting a small screwdriver under the raised part of the clip and lever upwards. They can be re-attached with a pair of pincers.

 

A bit more info next time please!

Sorry lol , i thought you'd guess from my other posts!

 

1997 citroen zx 1.4 mpi and the filter is underneath the rear driver sides door. Cannot see a way to open the bugger up!

Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. I was stumped as to what you meant until I remembered that you don't open the filter at all. You just change the whole thing and ditch the old one.

Thanks. If i did not read this i would not be able to find the fuel filter. I was looking for it under the bonnet.
