bruceb Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 My car is a Citroen Picasso 2005 model. Hi all - can anyone help - I recently replaced my headlamp bulb and in the process managed to loose the retaining clip - no problem I thought as it will be fixed at next service!! Wrong - the only way they can fix this is replace the whole headlamp unit at a cost of £280!!! Apparently headlamp clips are not sold on their own ............... Has anyone had a similar problem & what's the solution? Ta --- Bruce Quote
Xsarina Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Try a scrapyard - failing that a replacement second hand unit from ebay etc.... Dealers annoy me because they try to get you to go with the most expensive option - I was told that they had no idea what type of battery fitted my remote key fob (battery was missing and so I didnt know) and wanted to charge me £145 for a whole replacement fob. Luckily I have an aunt who has one so I asked her if she could have a look at hers - she did and said Citroen charged her £19 to replace the battery in hers - turns out I could get the right battery on ebay along with a spare for £2 delivered...Guess which option I chose? So if I were you I would either look to secondhand/used or look at a way you can make the clip yourself - I have no idea what it looks like so I cant make any suggestions as to what you could use.... Good Luck Quote

Good Luck Thanks - the scrap yard / ebay is what I'd thought of as best way - was hoping that someone out there might know of a place that sells these more useful parts. My other solution is to try & make something that ensures the bulb is more stable - maybe bluetack?? Thanks for reply --- Bruce Quote

Those bulbs get extremely hot!!I made a temporary clip for my daughters Pug 307 headlamp bulb out of a paperclip. Been in there a few months now and hasn't come loose. Quote
