Guest Xantia_Dude Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Hi there Does anyone know what size and shape tool you need for the drain plug on the Xantia oil sump? I have a feeling it is a square tool....which annoys the hell out of me :) Anyhow Cheers Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Hi There. Easiest way round this one is to take an old bolt (About 12mm If my memory serves me) and grind or file the end til it fits in the square hole in the sump plug. This can then be left with your socket set or toolkit for when you need it next time. My last Xantia had the square hole but the plug was hexagonal anyway so could be taken out with a socket. The first 2 I had were round with a square hole. Cheers. Hope this helps. Happy Filing! :) Quote

I went under to have a look and turns out it was a 21mm socket that i needed.....and guess which socket i had to search through the whole of our shed for....... There was no hole in this one either so seems like they have a few different designs. Anyhow, cheers for your help mate :D Quote
