Hi there i am new to all this is there anyone who as had problems with the pluriel roof apart from it leaks like a teabag but has managed to get it repaired

Brought a secondhand cs pluriel 2 months ago without warrenty(fool) and its roof has stop working and also its boot as also stopped opening been told by the garage that it will cost £3500 but as a GOOD WILL thing they will see if Citroen will foot the bill

Still waiting to hear its abit pointless having the car if i can't use the boot or open the roof and it leaks when it rain.

Anyone had the same problems. :) PLURIEL C3 ROOF PROBLEMS

Today 18/06/2008 Garage rang Citroen have refused to pay for repair because the last owner did not take the car to citroen for a service told its classed as loyality to citroen which means Citroen will be loyal back which leaves me with a car that is not convertable any more and without a boot.

Any advice from any one please i need it

Hello sixkids9366,

I hope we're not in the shoes here!! I've just bought a used C3 Pluriel convertible (2004) on Saturday and enjoying it. I found this site on a little research I'm doing on the car (a bit belated) because I think there might be a problem with the boot leaking! I did read some reviews before i bought it, although I had made up my mind to buy anyway whatever I found out and most of the complains were leaking roofs! We did check the inside of the car, for any damp smell or something but it was alright. It was yesterday that I noticed that the rug in the boot seemed damp (slightly wet) :D but I can't be too sure if it was from a leak yet or something else (I can't think what), the car is on a month's warranty from the dealer so I have to be sure as quickly as possible (so expires like 8th Sept) not even sure if it covers this, I hope it does!. So I thought I'd join this forum and learn more about the car as all the other sites have got nothing but negative comments on it.

Has anyone else here aside for us two experienced a leaking roof and what did you do?

Hello

Had a similar problem. 2003 Citroen Pluriel - one of the plastic 'trams' - a piece of black plastic 2cm x 2cm x 2cm cracked. As a consequence. the roof now doesn't close properly, meaning it leaks rain in and also billows up when driving at speed, meaning you have to wear ear plugs. Took it to my local Citroen dealer expecting just to have to get the broken tram replaced (looked like a 15 minute job). Got told that I would need to have a whole new roof put in - inc. rear glass, tonneau, etc. the whole shebang) because simply replacing the tram was an ineffective fix. Got told by the mechanic (a Citroen employee) that they see C3 faulty roofs pretty much on a daily basis. He told me the new roof would cost me £2K + £500 min labour to install. Again, he said he would try to get the parts on goodwill, given its an obvious design flaw, and absurd for a customer to have to spend £2k to replace a piece of plastic with a cost price of max £10. But Citroen said no after two weeks, claiming it was out of warranty. This is a car that's done 60k km since new, i've owned it since new and serviced it continually at Citroen dealerships.

Obviously I think Citroen have totally abused the customer / manufacturer relationship here. I'd never buy another one of their crap cars and I'm going to make sure I tell anyone who will listen about this incident. Anyone else with this problem, please PM me, and I'll share details. We need to get some action on this cover-up / denial by Citroen (have a letter from Citroen UK claiming they don't know anything about faulty roofs on the C3 Pluriel, despite the conversation I had with the the mechanic who told me he was putting goodwill claims in for new roofs on a daily basis).

Disgusting, shameful company. I hope the recession bites them hard for their disingenuous behaviour.
