hi has anybody had to change the pipe and hose for the power steering hose/pipe before,my car is xaintia a1.9 td estate 1998 , its a long one starts at the pump andalong the chassie bottom of bulk head then to a regulater. citreon want £132.00 plus vat any body know where might get it cheaper,regards mollie

If you can salvage the ends of the pipe where it connects to the pump and the rack, a local light engineering firm may be able to make you one up from the same type of hose as is used on Hydraulic diggers, JCBs and the like. They will charge for the hose by the metre and make a charge for crimping the ends and supplying any couplings required. Should only cost £40 or £50 if you are confident about removing and fitting it yourself.
