Hey All,

I have a 2002 SX Xsara Picasso with the 'older' style "click switch" system. Is there any way to change the older, manual style air conditioning unit for the newer, digital unit?

Thanks,

it would be a nightmare to do mate. the heater box flaps are moved by motors, yours are cables so you would need a heater box and that means dash out. the display unit alone will be over £100, then you would need an ecu and internal temp sensor. tbh i think you would be looking around £1000 just for parts. not worth the risk or work.

Hi Iannez,

Cheers for the reply. If its going to be that costly, im not even going to think about it lol. Thats like 1/3 the value of the car itself :D

Another thing I wanted to ask (I have looked in many similar forums, but you get so many different answers), if I were to change the radio, would I lose the second digi display where it says like "Pirate" and "Radio 1" etc...?

Thanks again,

Ross S

Why does everybody want to chuck out a perfectly good head unit? Can't get my head round this phenomenon! I mean, you turn it on, you get Wogan or Ken Bruce, Even Jeremy Vine or Steve Wright in the afternoon! Works doesn't it? Leave it alone! If it ain't broke. Don't "Fix" it! The only thing I object to in my present unit is that it keeps playing Jonothon Woss on Saturday mornings! Serious assault on the ears! But I think they all do that! That's what the CD slot is for. When Jonothon Woss comes on you put in a CD of Ken Bruce that you recorded off the computer during the week!

Get a life! :D
