Mat @ SWS Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Right then, I've noticed a C1 at work doesn't have the crappy plastic bump strips on the door. At 1st I thought this was maybe due to the fact that it's a newer model than our lasses. However, it isn't. The one at work is a 54 reg, our lasses is an 07. If I was to remove the strips, would there be a "recess" where the strips fit, therefor haveing to go to a body shop to fill, smooth and paint. Or are they simply just "stuck" on, and the doors would be smooth once removed (maybe some sticky residue left behind) Cheers, Mat Quote
C1-roo Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Mat, The plastic door strip is dependent on the spec of the vehicle. The entry level C1 Vibe has smooth doors while the Rhythm and Cool get a plastic strip - the length is dependent by the number of doors. I'm undecided about the strip so if anyone else can tell you whether the door panels are not recessed then I'll take mine off. C1-roo ;) Quote
TurboSlag Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 They're not recessed. the strips are self adhesive and peel off very easily. you'll need a little solvent to get the gunge off, but when mine came off hardly any gunge remained on the paintso it was easy. Quote
