Guest steff Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Hi i'm putting my xantia 1.9td through an MOT and wondered how to replace the rubber and metal thingy that is on the underside above the strut (it seems to have the 4 strut mounting bolts fixed into it from inside the bonnet) - so what's it called and how easy is it to acquire and fit please? Guest steff Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 thanks renorti, i have just returned from the scrappie with a solid one for £15 - they even removed it for me - mind it was a bit messy! so how does anyone know how my mechanic should go about replacing the unit: what's the best way to unscrew the sphere? do i need new O rings? what suspension height position to select? how do you release hydrualic pressure and how do you pressure up again? anything else he needs to know (i'm assuming he hasn't changed one before). thanks stef Quote
