nick2 Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 First off I'd like to say hello as I'm new to this site. I've tried to do a search to see if there is any relevant thread but my pc skills aren't up to much so apologies if this has already been raised. I've collected this week new to me a 3 year old C3 1.4 HDI 16V which I'm very happy with except there appears to what I can only describe as a jerkyness at low speed up to about 15 mph, also if you change up to second below this speed it doesn't like it, now I don't know if I need to adapt my driving style as this is my first diesel car or if there is a problem with the car......... is this a common fault or just my driving ! look forward to you're replies nick2 Quote
Bob-T Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 Hi Nick, I'm new here too. I'm taking delivery of a new Berlingo next week. Hope you don't think I'm being picky but did you mean Jerkyness. I typed Jerky into the search engine and it threw up about 4/5 threads to look through. Good luck Bob. Quote

I put it down to being an HDi engine with less torque at the bottom end than I'm used to. Previously I ran older Peugeot non-HDi diesel engined cars, which hardly ever stalled and needed no 'throttle' to go. Then again, they didn't exactly go! 3000 miles and 6 months later, it's still like that and I haven't adjusted my driving style - so I still stall it. Maybe the clutch is on it's way out? <_< Cheers Tim Quote
CE08LDB Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 My Neighbour has a 54 reg (Jan 2005 C3 1.4HDi Desire (New Style) and he finds the backs of the car jerks when going over bumps I said he should have it looked at. He dosen't bother having the servicing done intill the dealer sends a letter because its a motability car but I told him the service in important on all cars but even more on the HDi engines. Quote
