james24 Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 my zx 1.9d elation (n reg) failed its mot test on saturday because the full beam didnt work on the drivers side lamp. i have changed the bulb, but to no avail (i used the same bulb as in the dipped lamp) is this the right bulb to use? if not, what type do i need? if it is the right bulb, any other ideas on what i can try??? its retest is tomorrow. (i know i should have checked the full beam before i booked the retest!!!) any ideas/help would be much appreciated!! Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 If you have a meter. Check that you have power coming to the connector when on full beam. Also check that the "New" lamp is good. They are the same as the Dips (H1 I think). They are a bit fiddly to fit and if they don't seat in the socket properly they may not "earth". Try cleaning the holder metal with a screwdriver end or something to ensure a good circuit. Cheers. Hope this helps. :( Quote
james24 Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 thanks for that mate. i already checked the bulb in the other one and it worked, so (in the absence of a meter!) i will try what you suggested. thanks again. Quote
james24 Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 thanks for the tip. you are a legend!! there was a bit of grime on the connection, so i cleaned it up and it worked a treat!! Quote
