Terry1100 Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Heading off to Brittany tomorrow, is there anything new or particularly "French" available for the Blingo these days that would be a good buy while I'm over there ? (apart from shedloads of wine, Carambars, Orangina Rouge, etc) Quote
Terry1100 Posted August 29, 2005 Author Posted August 29, 2005 And now a sad tale of Berlingo abuse. We got back on saturday after a wonderful holday. The Pendle Bike Rack was an excellent "borrow" from a mate for the fortnight but at over £200 I'm not sure I'd want to buy one. It does bounce gently over bumps which is unnerving at first but it's better than strapping them to the tailgate. On the way down, with only luggage it was great. What I failed to allow for was that after loading up with "the usual suspects", adding another Cwt of bicycle well past the rear axle was not really a smart move. whoops :o 460 miles of nervousness with light steering, dodgy cornering and all the suspension being provided by the tyres is not something I'm going to repeat. however, safely home we now have the benefits safely lodged in our dining room. For those looking to estimate the capacity of the Blingo, that's 4 boxes (48 bottles) of Breton Cidre (heavy champagne type bottles), 60 bottles of wine, 24 litres of various fizzy drinks, 20 bottles of spirits/aperitifs various as well as assorted other foodstuffs (as well as a fortnights luggage for a family of four). Bob-T Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Welcome home Terry. That's a massive amount of party stuff. When is it? :o Quote
Jeremy Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 I might be able to beat this with: wife, dog, 750kg sand, 250kg of cement and one cement mixer in a 1.6 92hp car (seats down of course) + trailer with nearly a ton of building rubble for the tip. It's fair to say that the performance was compromised! Quote
