just got a 1.9d 1998 zx as my old 1.4 1994 was crap. i only use it for work as i have a alfa for the weekends. can i use a turbo and all the bits on a non turbo engine. Are the internals all the same or are there low comp pistons etc etc.

Hi Jord!

Although the engines look the same, you are right in assuming that the internals are different. The Non Turbo has a higher compression ratio and the valves and cam timing are different. Also the fuel pump, injectors and pipes are different.

For more info have a read through some of the old postings. The same question was handled here. http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citro...?showtopic=4622

It's nowhere near as straightforward as it might at first seem.

Cheers. Hope this helps.
