Hi

Have just aquired a second Xsara.

first one is a 1998 1.9TD Hatchback. the second one a 2.0HDi Estate.

keeping the Estate for occasional journeys and the Hatchback for day to day work.

I'm not sure whether or not the Estate is the 110 BHp or the 90 Bhp would I be able to find out from the Engine Code which is RHY (DW10TD)

Thanks for any help

Right answered my own question it is the 90 BHP

found it through a bit of research on Google. So this in effect makes the Insurance cheaper. what I'm wondering is how much of a difference between the 90 and 110. in Fuel Economy

Performance etc ?

Thanks

Hi Ian.

If you want facts and figures there's no better place to look than Parkers website. The figures for the Xsara estate can be found here.

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Summary.aspx?model=143

If you want a bit more performance AND mpg you can always fit a "Tuning Box", like I did on my Xsara Picasso which has the same engine. The one I Fitted is available on Ebay and can be found here.

The insurance people (NFU) charged me an extra £15 a year for the "modification" but it's well worth it. It's much improved and I reckon it's quicker than my 110 HDi Xantia was now. MPG has gone up from 45ish tp 50plus! Have a look at my "Mergi" thread in the general area for more details.

Cheers. Hope this helps. :(
