Hi guys,

I want to upgrade the hifi in my '95 ZX 1.9 diesel and I was just wondering if there was a convenient grommeted hole in the bulkhead anywhere to feed the additional power supply cable through?

Many thanks in advance for any help!

Steve

P.S. Yes, I use to own an XJ6 :(

I quite want to know this as well , i have the 1.4 and cannot find anywhere to easily get through the bulkhead. There could be a good high current feed under the dash somewhere near the fusebox.

Someone on one of the ICE forums recently told me "passenger side footwell or up behind the glovebox iirc from about 9 years ago when i had a zx , may not have been visable from engine bay" ...but I've not had chance to have a look yet!

I know this reply will be a little late for you but for anyone else heres my reply. The is a nice grometed hole on the drivers side of the car in the engine bay. To access it is a pig tho. Remove the wiper arm from the spindle, then remove the plastic cowling from the windscreen (Be careful not to snap it as i did...) there are 8 hex screws. You will need to do the 2/4 end screws with the bonnet down. After it is off, look behind the driverside wheel arch (bonnet up ofc) and you will notice the cables that go into the bulkhead behind a kind of black box, now look around as it can be difficult to find a small plugging grommet (i dont know the correct name). this is concealing a rather decent hole that ends up bang behind the relay mounts behind the kickpanel right at the back. (be careful sticking your hand behind there with the battery connected as i got a sudden suprise when i touched the back of the panel :( . This hole will fit 12Gauge (twisted pair) that will be More than enough to run most amps. Remember to use a rubber grommet to provide a tight seal with the cable or if you could end up getting crap through from under the bonnet.

See the system i rigged up using 12Gauge for power alone.
