Hi I have just bought a 02 plate C3. When I turn the radio on it bleeps every 5 seconds. I have been told that the BSI does not reckonise the radio and it will need to be re-calibrated. Is there anyway the the BSI can be checked or is it a dealer only fix.

Citroen car radios do not require an unlock code or PIN. However they are set in the BSI by the manufacturer or dealerships. Some car ICE dealers acn also do it.

If the radio is the original as fitted at the factory then it should work OK. If however the previous owner took out the original and fitted a super set with DVD or the like then the BSI may have been reset for his new unit. The only way out will be to visit a dealer or the like and get them to check it out.

the reason for all this is to make the radio of no use to thief

Thanks for your reply and explanation. I was thinking of fitting an OEM radio/DVD player but after reading some of the problems encountered Im not to sure. one way or another it looks as if the BSI will need to be reset to OEM or original radio. Was thinking about Sony CDXGT121 does anyone know of any problem with this unit and effects it might have on the BSI or is it a suck it and see.

Visit the ICE section on the Picasso forum (click on Citroen owners club above this box) and back track. There is a lot of excellent info on how to fit other heads to the car and still use the controls etc.

Thanks for you help. being a newbie I hadn't seen the ICE section otherwise I would have posted there. Anyway new unit fitted with no problems. Just the switched and permanent lives needed to be swapped on the unit side.

Just the common condensation in the headlight to get rid of.
