Has anyone heard an occasional metalic sound ( like a metal spoon hitting a pot ) coming from the rear of the C5 when covering undulating ground ( not ruts or potholes ) it happens mainly when loaded and the suspension is working hard . The car is a 51 plate and has had the rear suspension modification done by previous owner to stop premature rear tyre wear . Does'nt happen often but sounds quite alarming when it does . Dealer is at a loss to explain . Any suggestions ?

Anything floating around loose in the spare wheel stowage area?

Loose jacks have been responsible for lots of innacurate diagnoses.

Thanks , never thought of that , I'll check. Nice photo !!

Had the same clonking noise on mine radius arm bearing had gone and a nice £350 bill to boot

Best way of testing is to put it on high suspension setting then drop it onto to low then back up to normal if its still making the same creaking grinding noise you know what it is :o
