Guest ---DAF--- Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I posted here last week as my car had a bit of an explosion. Got her back tday!!! YAY!! FYI it was a gasket type seal worn on the injection type manifold drew in air and proudly exploded!! blowing the entire system to bits and throwing brand new castrol all over the street and my radiator!!! its fixed!! so i decided to treat her to some new sounds hence my new active sub unit with its ever so handy quick install promises...... i have attatched the ground lead. yes. the ground lead. thats it. i spent 20 minutes hanging into my engine compartment looking for somewhere , anywhere, to poke the live cable, that goes to battery terminal, through to the cockpit (when i knew that is not the way you do it)!! i need HELP!! and not from Halfords "we'll do it in ten minutes pretend it took 40 and charge you £39 quid" i think not. Please if anyone has experience in this area my address is 21... Jk. Any advice or a link to a site with fitting ideas whatever any help is so much appreciated!!! thanks for your time DAF Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Can anyone enlighten me just what the F**% you're on about? An active sub in the boot? sounds like something Q would have made up for JB 007! What planet do you inhabit? Puzzled! Quote
Guest ---DAF--- Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Can anyone enlighten me just what the F**% you're on about? An active sub in the boot? sounds like something Q would have made up for JB 007! What planet do you inhabit? Puzzled! Eerrr its an active sub unit as apposed to a passive sub requiring installation of a seperate amplifier, like, err, a Bass speaker dealing with the low end frequencies enhancing ones musical preferences and making even short journeys a pleasure. Head unit deals with processing digital information from sources including MP3CD/MP3USB/SD/MicroSD and radio. So i need a Bass unit/Sub installation guide basically. TY. DAF Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 OH! So you're one of those anti social little S**TS that goes around inflicting your unbearable excuse for what in your genre passes for "Music" on the unsuspecting public at unbelievable decibel levels! I also have the means to play MP3s etc through my Xcarlink but I choose not to inflict my modestly impeccable taste in music on anyone but myself and my passengers. Take your "Active SUB" and shove it where the sun don't shine! AND I DON'T MEAN THE BOOT OF YOUR XANTIA! Get a life! Listen to Ken Bruce! Bye! ;) Quote
