1.9 Turbo Xantia Steering Problem

I have a strange problem with my 1.9 Turbo Diesel. It has developed a tendency to change direction when cornering, and on humps (such as a humpback bridge), when the load on the front suspension is light. It seems to twitch left rather than right.

This has developed over the last 100 miles (it passed its MOT only a couple of months ago). The last incident was in a long left-hand bend when the back end broke to the right. At other times it feels as if the steering wants to go left.

I suspect the hydraulics, but any advice and help will be appreciated.
