Horridge Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 For my recent birthday my family bought me an upgrade disc for my Sat-Nav system in my 2005 C8, but unfortunately the box doesn't come with any instructions! I thought it would be as simple as removing the current Sat-Nav disc and replacing it with the new one, but it acted as if there was no disc in there at all. Anyone got any ideas on how to implement the upgrade or links to a website that will tell me? Cheers,Chris Quote

CheersYou should check what RT3 firmware you are running; ie 5.52. You can get the complete download from eurovan2.com. The last update included TMC. The latest nav discs may require this update. The latest nav discs may require this update. you need to update the whole system ,ie buy new softwear cd and then go to a citreon garage to have it downloaded. There are a lot of garages who dont have a clue about this ,as they dont fit the sytems in the first place. My new download disc was £70. Fiona This might save you £70 First, to find out what software you have installed, follow the following: - The RT3 allows you to read out the devices' type number as well as the type number of the display and other info. A collection of our members' type numbers can be located in the first post of this thread: RT3-Hardware Serial Number Instructions to read out the type numbers: - Press the 'Menu' button for more than 5 sec. (on the RT3 or on the console)- A menu selection window will appear- Select the 2nd pick 'Device description' / ' Gerätebeschreibung'- Find:Number of Controller: 149 8335 077 (example)Number of Display: 9653211380 (example)Software Version Controller: 5.40 (example)Software Version Display: 9409E0921 (example) - Press on the navigation knob/wheel and find further:......Software Version Controller: CD:03.50 (example, this is V5.40.350)... - Press on the navigation knob/wheel and find further:...... Software Version Controller dd/mm/yy*CDUpd: 1.xx* The example numbers correspond to SW version V5.40.350. Older software releases have a different type number look. If you intend to upgrade to V5.4, find the upgrade procedure and collateral information in detail as follows: Precautions during upgrade: - Upgrade with the running engine and the vehicle stopped- Eject the SIM card before upgrade- Do not manipulate the RT3 during upgrade- Do not unplug the battery during upgrade- Open the RT3 door (depending on vehicles) to allow the CD ejection Upgrade of the RT3: - Insert the upgrade CD: RT3 runs to launch the upgrade procedure- Wait: the RT3 will boot several times before ejecting the CD. Do not eject CD before its automatic ejection at the end of the procedure- When the upgrade is finished, RT3 ejects automatically the CD- After the CD ejection, RT3 boots again. After this boot the update is complete, you can again manipulate the key of your car and switch off the engine- Wait for 5 min until you start the car again Improvements as claimed by manufacturer: - Optimized synthetic voice and voice commands- Improved readability of screen content- Activated A/V connectors in the glove compartment (activation required via Diag2000)- Full size map display (colour version)- TMC messages displayed with icons on the map in real time (colour version) THE DOWNLOAD SITE IS: - http://www.schadde.com/eurovan/index.php Ensure you use a high quality blank cd disc. I've still to ask the dealers to perform the diag2000 so will report back if I get this done, unless I've sold the car by then?? It worked for me but please ensure you take the precautions listed above. Dave Quote
