Guest Mike M. Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I've driven a multitude of vehicles over the years and never come across this annoying characteristic before. My recently purchased 56 plate C8 2.0LX behaves perfectly normally when accelerating through the gears (manual) in a gentle manner, when I change up at something less than 2000rpm. However, when I get into a situation that needs faster acceleration - such as joining a busy main road for example, and rev the engine above 2000rpm before changing up, in the brief period between taking my foot off the throttle and pressing the clutch, the engine speed increases considerably resulting in a very "notchy" gear change. I've tried releasing the throttle a second before pressing the clutch pedal but with no improvement. This is the first Citroen I've driven and I would like to know if this is simply a characteristic of the engine management system or does the car have a fault of some kind. Has any other 2.0LX owner experienced anything similar? Any advice would be gratefully received. "Er indoors" has started to make comments about my driving!! Quote
