One problem I have had with my C1 is the reflection of the dash board top in the screen :(

Most of the time it's fine, but when the car is in bright sunshine (admittedly rare this summmer!) and driving towards a shaded area of the road, I find it very difficult to see what's coming.

Is it just me as no one seems to have mentioned this?

Anyway, I've found some textured rubber flooring with little diamond lumps on the back and I've cut a piece to lie on top of the dash on the drivers side only. On top of the airbag didn't seem too clever :D

So far it seems a big improvement, but I haven't had really testing road conditions so far.

Hi downsman,

I've always found polorised sunglasses resolve any dashboard reflection problems.

That's a good idea, I wonder if they are available with prescription lenses

Never really had a problem with this, are you sitting low down, high up, rather than the average viewing position.

As you say there has not been that much sun this year to notice.

I am glad there is very little silver inside the car, as a lot of modern dashes have this and is far more distracting.

Mind you it took me a long while to get used to the red metal on the door interiors. (red car)

That is the reason I didn't get a red car. Having the metal showing inside means you really have to be even more careful what colour you pick.

With regards to the reflections in the glass I don't have any so maybe it is something to do with your glass cleaner?

Good idea, but it doesn't seem to matter how clean the screen is.

I get quite severe reflections from my dash as well in sunny weather. I just wear sunglasses. Sorted.

You're right that sunglasses reduce the glare from the reflections, but when driving along tree lined roads it is even more difficult to see into the shadows under the trees

Thanks for all the tips, I'm glad to say my black rubber mat has worked very well, and reflections are no longer a problem :)

You can get matt dash wipes that dull the top of the dash to a normal look rather than a shiney tacky finish, helps stop reflections being as bad. and crap sticking to the dash as bad.

Cheers
