xsara 19 td wont start when cold, engine turns over good but will not start, i have checked for power at heater plugs with test meter and still getting supply, fuses and relays are fine,when car is started it drives fine no smoke,just when it eventually starts i get a puff of white smoke but vanishes in seconds,does anyone know what i can do to sort this,?

While you may have power to the glowplugs could it be that they may not be functioning as they should?

Don't know whether the 1.9td utilises the glowplugs readily, the 2.0HDi I believe only uses them when the ambient temperature drops below freezing (open to correction on that)
