i have a citroen c3 2002 model,i have just removed the original headunit as the unit has stopped working -disc wont play.

i have since purcased a kenwood kdc-w3041 unit.

i was told a straight fit,as the plugs were just push on job done, seems the case except there seems to be something wrong the headunit wont turn on with the ignition or turn off when i tried to open my car it wouldnt open with the remote locking it was as if the unit had caused the car to go into eco mode and shut down, the unit plays perfectly,i get theon dash screen keeping time but wont go back to normal display lights up telling me i have a door open but crashes when the door is shut, dont know if the stalks work lol when i put the key in the battery light flicked on.

but back to the headunit i assume that the battery has a constant live and that the ignition has no cable signalling the ignition is on or off, with the unit there was a cable that had the original kenwood cble with two plugs citroen fitment there is one red and one yellow with push on plugs fitted in the centres do these need to be crossed one into the other as 1 red,1 yellow are just running straight with a from one to the other so why do they need the covers must come apart and wire up else where these are comin from the the kenwood plug to the plug where the original citroen two go into.

on the citroen wire there is a wire red which has been clamped onto an orange wire i think this must be the battery and ignition wire on the citroen cabling do you know if these should be taken apart and connected to the kenwood red and yellow to create a connection to disable the constant live and feed from the ignition.
