flyor64 Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Hello everyone, Has anyone attempted to replace the front seats with something more comfortable? I actually commute a fair distance daily (110 KMs) and if I could upgrade one thing about my car it'd be the seats. I've thought about about finding some nicer seats from a Peugeot 207 or something similar, but not even sure they would fit. I've looked a quite a few of the "tuner" style aftermarket seats, but I don't really need 5-point racing harnesses and the like. Rather a more supportive seat in the lumbar area, and general comfort... Any tips or ideas is greatly appreciated. Quote
ColinC1 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Most front seats just bolt on with four bolts, and are easy enough to replace like for like, I did this on my previous smart car, and replaced dirty gray for nice bright coloured seats off ebay. Going away from the standard seat....You would have to check for physical size of new seats to fit in place and also be at the correct sitting height, and the runners not getting jambed. Also you would have to get the seats base frame to align with the cars four holes fixing, so that would require some fabrication skills by someone for cutting and welding the metal frame to suit, and make sure it is sturdy enough to meet crash regulations. I also think these car seat companies can give you a suitable base frame that fits the car you specify, ie, C1. Quote
