Guest Moke Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Recently purchased Citroen ZX 1.4i Elation ‘N’ reg. 47000 miles. Starts OK from cold. Behaves perfectly on long run. If stopped for a short while, starts OK but sometimes plays up on the overrun, hunting between 1500 and 2000 revs, or shooting up to 3500 revs for 10, 20 or 30 seconds, and then sometimes dies, usually at busy traffic light intersections. Sod’s law. If this happens, she’s a bitch to start, even though I follow the starting instructions for a warm or flooded engine. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks. Mike. Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Have a look at this thread http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citro...amp;#entry35815It sounds like the idle controll stepper motor is sticky. Cheers Hope this helps. Quote
