I decided to change my fuel filter today and after 3 hours have finally admitted defeat.

It is a Xantia W Reg 1.8 16v Petrol.

Going by the Haynes it says that if the connection are plastic crimped on then cut them off and renew with worm drive connectors (Jubilee clips). So that is what I did,

So I get the filter off ok but I cant seem to get a good seal to get it connected back. The fuel lines are hard plastic so I have a connector going from them into some flexible fuel hose which then attaches to the filter. All connected to jubilee clips. Not matter what I do I can't seem to get them tight enough or a good enough seal.

Any advice?

Looks like I have been a bit of a fool. The Manual I have is up to S reg and it is a W Reg (it came with the car.) looking at it it didnt need cutting at all. Going to try and get some hose connectors to fit is and use JB weld to fit it.

D'oh.
