Don Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 My car is a 1.4hdi16v with 115k on the clock. Having just paid out £130 for the new nsf spring, I now have had to replace the n/s/rear as well. £74, of my hard earned cash! (no rear recall?) Has anyone else had this happen? I see and hear loads about all makes having spring problems. My 'man' says seeyou in another 6 weeks....i've got plenty sprins in now, I can almost do them while you wait!!! Now my question is........ ......was there a bad batch of spring wire production at the turn of the century? THIS MUST BE COSTING US MOTORIST MILLIONS, not to mention the garages/car makers. Who does Citroen reclaim the money from? Any one any ideas?? Don Quote
stimulator Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 My 54 reg broke a front spring. Yes it was during warranty period,. However it was not in the VIN range that needed the recall and did enquire when i bought the car if it needed the spring cups fitting and was assured it didn't. Both springs were replaced. No problen with the rears. I would suggest that the dealer approaches Citroen about this as it was a known problem. Quote
