Guest Rod&Hod Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Are we the only ones that find the short time before Economy Mode cuts in to be a nuisance? We like to park up in some nice country spot and listen to the radio, but the engine has to be re-started after half an hour to bring back power. Having re-established power, subsequent shut downs come much more quickly, about 10 minutes. We can see the sense of Eco mode which is to prevent accidential battery drain, but shouldn't there be a way of temporarily disabling this feature? Quote

iannez Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 you cant turn it off but you can change the time it takes before it comes on with a diag tool. next time its in for service ask the dealer to set it for an hour. they should not charge you as they should do a diag check as part of the service. Quote

This seems a good tip as our C3 is due for its 12,500 mile service soon at the Citroen dealership. Apart from this one slight criticism, it's a great little car, and has run practically perfectly over 18 months and 12,000 miles. MPG has worked out at a minimum of 51 during the winter, with short journeys and up to 59 now the warmer weather has come. Air/con seems to make very little difference. The mileage recorder is accurate and the speedo about 3% fastPerhaps Citroen will address this question of the Economy Mode in the future, giving the user the option to disable, or set a longer period before it applies.
