Rear Suspension Not Rising

Hi,

 

My x reg xantia estate hdi is failing to rise at the rear when starting, while the front is fine. so front suspension rises up and back is almost touching the ground! i can get round this temporarily by putting car on workshop setting which raises whole car up. i then return the suspension setting to normal, the front comes down straight away, the back stays up. which means the car can be driven if absolutely necessary. in this state, the back gradually lowers until its almost sitting on the floor again. i then have to repeat the workshop suspension trick and start again

 

this is pants. and car needs mot in a few weeks :unsure:

 

does anyone have an idea of whats going on please? if rear risers were not working, then surely the workshop suspension setting wouldnt rise the rear either?

 

im guessing this could be potentially expensive!!
