James_Stewart Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 My first post on here, and i've got a feeling it's going to be a long one, so please bear with me... I've got a 2001 Xsara VTR which i've had since new. It's given me no problems over the past four years, and then on Friday the drivers side window dropped into the door with no warning. Which was nice. And cold. After much swearing and a little brute force with a small hint of ignorance i've got the interior door panel off to reveal the mechanism. It looks like a motor driving a worm gear arrangement that allows some cable to spool on and off of a pulley. One end of this cable is sticking out with a nipple attatched to the end of it, and i'm presuming this should run to one of the window runners. It feels as though the cable has come off of the spool assembly somewhere, but in the darkness of a mates garage last night I couldn't work out how to remove the motor assembly from the window, save from drilling out a load of rivets. I hope i'm missing something blindingly obvious here, and I was hoping someone could give me a few tips on how to get the motor assembly out of the door. Quote
