Tom Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I've got a 2003 C3 and just noticed that the reverse lights are coming on when reverse is engaged. I've tried changing the fuse (although the original fuse looked fine), I've also taken the rear light clusters out to check the connection and the bulbs. I've not been able to switch the bulbs out yet as I have no spares to hand. But the bulbs all look ok (the little piece of wire across the two "arms" inside the bulb are intact). If the bulbs turn out not to be the problem what else can I check? I'm guessing at the end of the day its just a bulb and a switch with a fuse, so I'd guess I'll need to check the switch and also the connections. But I'm not really 100% sure where the switch would be or if there's anything else I should be checking. I'm mostly trying to avoid the costs of getting this sorted at a garage so I can pass my MOT. ThanksTom Quote
flitwick Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Same happeneed to mine the switch on top of the gear box has problay gone quick check of this is to pull the connector off and put a bit of wire between the connectors on the block if the lights come on than that your issue I think it was on a few quid from main dealer Quote
Guest cleggie Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 NO reverse lights is not an MOT failure. My C3 reverse lights don't work - been through two MOTs since I've owned the car. Quote
Guest Talmos Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I've just bought a C3, but my sister has had one since 2006. i changed the reverse light switch on this about 3 years ago. price was about £15 from local motor factor. Quote
