Injection Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Hi! I opened the same topic in C3 general discussion but they send me there... So: For a couple of months I will get my driving license and I'm going to drive my mother's Citroen C3 Exclusive Black, 6 year old (2003 or 2004). I'm adicted to music and I'm interested in audio and electronic things. My question to you is; which audio is in my C3? I know it has a Clarion CD radio with steer controls and in-dash display and I think it has a support for a CD changer (which my car hasn't). And I know it has an TDA IC inside with 4 x 11 W power. It has 6 speakers; 2 front, 2 tweeters and 2 rear speakers. Which speakers are inside? Brand? Power? I think that in front door are speakers somewhere about 16 cm. Somebody has seen them? Picture? I'm really interested what is inside, but I find it impossible to find anything on the web... And I'm not planing to upgrade my sistem. The other problem is that it supports only audio CDs on which I can burn up to 20 tracks. It's too small... I have up to 50 GB of music on my laptop. So, I was googling a little bit and find some interesting things like this: http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?productid=34&cat=12&page=1 But is toooo expensive. For that price, I can get an solid aftermarket unit with USB and line input. Do you know any cheaper solution? And yes, I have a FM transmitter but the sound quality is too bad... Sorry on my bad English and thank you! Quote
Guest CitTone Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Dension ICE-Link or similar FM in-line modulator? If you get an aftermarket unit DO NOT attempt to fit it without using a proper harness adapter. Apart from losing the dash display (which is unavoidable) and the steering-column controls (which can be restored if you have the correct stereo and cable adapters) if you connect a cheap stereo directly to the harness, there is a chance of damaging the car's BSI - either due to the wiring being incorrect, or through not allowing the BSI to hibernate (or disconnecting the battery) beforehand. I have seen elsewhere that Citroen can actually provide an adapter cable to connect a "foreign" stereo safely, so it may be worth asking a dealer before you start. Quote
