TheLoon Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I have read through as many posts as have the word Sensodrive contained within it, but i am looking for the latest thoughts on a judder my car has developed. I have a 1.6 05 plate done 45K, its serviced annually to comply with a lifetime warranty(non Citroen garage) the garage i use has an ex Citroen tech and in talking to him he states there is a software fix which should greatly improve my current experience, but they can't carry it out.I have booked my car into my local Citroen Dealership (Bristol Street Motors) but the appointment is 2 weeks away, so i am hoping to canvas opinion about the process. I have been told by the garage that there is a diagnosis charge of £68 payable, but they are reluctant to confirm what happens if anything is found. I would like to understand the following;has anyone had the diagnostic checks run, had amdendments to the software implemented, what were the costs and did they see a improvement. Should Citroen be contributing to the costs? Thanks for your support Quote
smokescreen Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Hi TL, I had a problem on my previous C3(1.4HDi Sensodrive) with the gearbox ECU after having a replacement fitted following damage to the front end - car 2years old. Initially no problems with the Sensodrive but after a couple of weeks when slowing down for traffic lights the 3 peeps warning sounded and the gearbox gear indicator showed --- and the snowflake symbol showed. I stopped the car and switched off the ignition for 30 secs and after switching on the fault cleared and it drove normally. Contacted Main Dealer who said bring the car in and they would look at it on the diagnostic machine. I went first thing the next day and they hooked it up and said that a software update was needed as the replacement gearbox ECU had an early software version installed. This was completed and car handed back. No charge as car was within the 3yr warranty and the accident damage/replacement ECU had been done by the same Main Dealer bodyshop. I would assume that as your car is outside of the Citroen 3yr warranty and you haven't extended the Citroen warranty, the £68 hook-up charge is the standard charge for diagnostic investigation which my Main Dealer also charges (displayed on the service counter)although I would have thought this might be waived if you have them do the work. Otherwise no problems, touch wood, which required diagnostics.Regardssmokescreen Quote
