Hi,
Recently had gear selector linkage etc changed (under warranty) on 2004 C3 Diesel due to problems changing gear, Dealers done job but now after engine warms up it is very notchy trying to get into first gear
any body else had this problem? or any advice would be appreciated, (before the car is returned to the dealer for the third time in a week (job before this one was to change all the steering gear due to a strange noise when turning steering wheel) Just have to sort this problem and the problem with the noise (like a screeching noise from front nearside of car only happens after about 30 minutes of driving ,dealers say cannot afford to have 30 minute test drive to ascertain problem and all will be well
Thanks

:D typical my one did the same its because citroen cheaply put a plastic part in linkage when hot it warps
Take it back mines going back again for the same reason also because the linkage is wire operated if they dont put it together proply the gear change is dire

kjn - Think I've had the same steering problem, creaking / 'graunching' noises which came and went intermittently. (C3 1.4 Desire)
Recently had the steering gear replaced for the second time which so far seems to have cured it.
The first time the steering was replaced was due to 'clicking' / 'backlash' through wear of linkages

Oliver, yes that sounds familar, this is a shame having all these problems with the car as before I had this car I had an identical model C3 which unfortunately was written off in an accident (not my fauly I hasten to add) and to be honest it was a gem no problems at all in the 11 months I owned it, this one seems to be causing a few problems, if I get the gear selection problems sorted then its back to the screeching noise which seems to be coming from the front of the car usually comes after about 30-40 minutes being driven, hopefully will be problem free driving after that. One thing I must say about the C3 is that when I had the accident ( I was hit in the drivers side at about 40 mph, drivers door, rear door. back panel. the complete side demolished, it even bent the boot floor, a write off, I walked away from the car with some bad bruising ets on legs, safety wise it seems an excellent car.
