Guest RayRay Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 My Citroen Xsara 1.6, 2002 model would not start. The interior light would not come on when the door was opened. Upon ignition the headlights came on. The motor turned over ok, but no ignition. An auto electrician has tracked all citcuits and has diagnosed a faulty "Multifunction Control Module 1". The initial price for a replacement one to be flown to New Zealand is around $1200 plus his labour for his work thus far - removing dash during checking the circuits etc. I have recently had to replace the heater coil as well, which involved a similar activity. The question is whether the Module in question can be electrically checked by someone or simply sprayed to restore the conductivity of a circuit, or whether a cheaper source for a replacement can be found.
