britbabe Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Hi all Well, this looks like the wealth of knowledge on C3s so I wondered if some of you could help me with a few little queries. Got a 1.4LX 52plate, 36.5k miles, and Im wondering if this is normal.... the biting point seems really high and its difficult (but not impossible) to select gears, especially reverse. This is my first Citroen so I'm not sure if this is the norm for them. Would appreciate a reply so I can contact my dealer and at least wound as if I know what I'm talking about ! lol Love BB xx Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Sorry I can't help you as I have a C3 1.6i 16v Sensodrive Exclusive but some1 will know im sure Quote
wozza Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Would say thats deffinately not normal should not be hard engaging gears. But reverse you usually will find it hard unless you put your foot right to the floor. Idea though might be to put car into nuetral then lift you clutch up then down and try reverse again. Might be a bit smoother. Quote
hertsnminds Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 The biting point on most cars is controlled by a cable and therefore can be adjusted to any point in the clutch pedals travel. Sometimes the cable can slip and need readjusting. Also as the clutch plates wear the bite point will change. Easiest way to compare your car with another is to ask for a test drive of a C3 at any Citroen garage. Ian Black 55 VTR+ Quote
