Hello,

This may be of interest to others, whilst having a general look at my 2005 Berlingo Desire 2.0 HDI l removed the plastic engine cover for a look underneath. I noticed the padding / sound deadening on the underside of it was worn where it rests on the plastic carrier which holds the wiring for the heater plugs. closer inspection showed the individual wires had been chaffed away to the point one was bare and others almost bare! A potential fire hazard? Probably most likely when the heater plugs would be used? The offending wire was protected with insulating tape and the whole lot then bound up and protected with a split plastic sleeve. I would recommend others check under their own covers. The HDI engine is used across the citroen range, is this a known problem?
