johntom Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Hitoday whilst stuck in a traffic jam, i noticed that the car was vibrating at tickover (about 800rpm). The vibration could be felt through the steering wheel and pedals etc, but disapeared when i raised the revs to 1000rpm, the car also had more of a rattle to it? The car is a 2004 HDI manual estate with 77k on the clock. Are there any commons problems that would cause this, it almost feels like it's not running on all cylinders below 1000rpm? Quote
ando7p Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 I might be barking up the wrong tree, but might it possibly be your dual-mass fly wheel? I seem to remember that this was one if its symptoms along with a 'tweeting' noise. Mine does vibrate at tickover (fairly intermittently), but as the clutch doesn't need changing yet, I have done nothing about it yet. Seem to remember that the solid flywheel was around £100. Quote
johntom Posted December 12, 2010 Author Posted December 12, 2010 Hithanks for your reply. It doesn't seem to have done it again since, however it does have a vibration when started from cold. The tacho doesn't jump about, but the car feels lumpy and rough at tickover. As soon as the car is driven it seems ok? Quote
