Aza Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Hi All, My 2000 1.9D @94k miles has recently developed a very bad vibration when accelerating, going up hill etc. It is more prevalent in the 2500-3000rpm range using 3rd to 5th gear. Indeed the gear stick moves quite considerably when it occurs but yet there is no loss in power from the stand still and there is no vibration or engine misfire with the held clutch in. The vibration does not affect the steering. My thought process so far:Head gasket - No, because a misfire/vibration doesn't happen on tick over nor do I have the mayonnaise on the oil filler cap or mysterious consumption of waterGearbox - No, because it I think it would happen in all gears and speeds. Plus would it be difficult to engage gear? So, is it:Blocked injectors?Clogged fuel filter?Clogged Air filter?Engine mounts?Or something more sinister? I was at the back of the queue when it came to dishing out car mechanic knowledge so any guidance/experiences would be appreciated. Many thanks, Aza Quote
