Guest haza406 Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I've got a 2001 C5 2.0 HDi 110bhp SX. Since the cold snap last week the blowers have been working intermitently, you switch the engine on, it'll breifly show the speed of the fan on the climate panel, then it'll go off (displaying as if you've turned the fans off), and won't respond to you turning the fans up, now up until yesterday a quick tap on the side of the dash with your hand and they'd come back on, but now nothing. I went and bought a replacement heater module today (the one that sits at the side of the clutch pedal) but this hasn't cured it. Is there anything else it could be, in this weather an ferrying my two year old round in the car with me it's not much fun having a freezing cold car! Any help appreciated!! Quote
Guest foxy2600 Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 So you changed the module. Unplug the module again. Does the heater fan run if you connect the Heater Control Module fan motor feeds Black to Black, Red to Red using two jumper wires and Ignition on, engine running?? Should run full speed. I temporarily did this for a few weeks for a mate during the hot summer (Peugeot 406). If it does I'd be looking at the climate panel. My local Peugeot/Citroen dealer says he's never changed one but always a first time. If it doesn't then make sure there's 12v at the Red feed (using a bulb or meter) and continuity to earth on the Black feed - again ignition on and engine running. If that checks out then you'll need a fan motor. Anyway see my other post - all the symptoms are Heater Module (it could be duff from factory). Foxy Quote

When I had my module (called a resistor pack, I think ) replaced at the Citroen garage they struggled to get it to connect properly. This is a very common problem and it's pretty much always the resistor pack that's failing, or not connecting properly.(hence it coming on when you thump the dash) Quote

So many little gremlins with this C5 though! Quote
