Oil Burnning Away

Hi every one im new to these forums and also driving and would like some help please.

I have a piccaso 02 reg 1.8L engine.

my problem is first the engine managment has come on and the guy at the garage said it had something to do with air intake but im not quite sure.

and also iv noticed that it seems to burn oil away quite quickly.

and sometimes it drinks fuel fast but other times its ok with fuel.

 

Iv changed the air filter but that is the limit to my knowledge im afraid.

Iv also got a haynes manual but not realy got anywhere i can look at the car as i live in a flat.

so any help would be great thanks
