Re-chipping For 02 2.0 Hdi

Hi everyone,

 

following the very helpful advice about setting up the caravan's electrical relationship with our Mk1 C5 2.0 Hdi (110 HP), I wonder if anyone could recommend a re-chipping service in Devon or the SW, or if anyone has experience of the results for this car.

Try www.dieselbob.co.uk he can supply a module you fit yourself, very easy to do and about 15 minutes work. A bit fiddly if the fuel pipe is at the rear of the engine but the power increase is amazing.

I dont want to say that all tuning boxes are rubbish because they are not, but you need to be careful and a full remap is a much better way forward. I bought a tuning box when I bought my car and took it to the rolling toad that set up my race car.....10 minutes of fitting and it added precisely no horsepower and -5 lbs of torque (and that was on the best of its 15 settings)! The guy who runs the place has the software to remap the ECU and is in the process of adapting a Peugeot version of my car (C5 2.2 HDI) to load onto the ECU.

A box will only ever alter the signal from the ECU and most only turn up the fuel pressure...a remap covers every aspect. Ive learned my lesson!
