Hi all,And Happy New year to All. iam having a bit of a problem with the gear changing on my C5 2.0 HDI vtr 2003 92000 miles.

i was having trouble going from 1st to 2nd when cold (not grinding, just clonking like its not happy) but when warm it was fine.

but now 2 weeks later it seems to be doing it in most gears ( not as bad and not all the time) if you change down the gears its not to bad, mainly 1st to 2nd going up the gears when cold, the cluch doesnt seem to be spongy when pressing.

Any help would be great. Thanks

Is it worse going across the gate? (2nd to 3rd or 4th to 5th)? If so it sounds like gear linkage.

£100-ish for the part, from memory.

A common fault on C5's and Picasso's .

When I had this trouble, I was having to use 2 hands to get from 1st to 2nd when the engine was cold ( don't ask me how I was steering - I wasn't!)

Hi seefive, thanks for the fast reply, no going across the gate seems ok at the moment, its mainly 1st to 2nd if i take my time changing from 1st to 2nd it goes in ok but you can feel its not happy mainly when its cold, iam hopeing its not the cluch! ive been to the car parts place and they told me just the cluch kit was £140. then i would need a flywheel too costing £250. thats without fitting fees.. once again thanks for the reply.
