Del Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Hi all, I have a 2005 2.0hdi Multispace, while I was at my local Indespension trailer depot getting some trailer parts I asked how much to fit a towbar on my vehicle and was told they would not touch the Multispace due to problems they had had in the past when fitting the relay, they kept getting a continuous clik which they say was down to the type of wiring/electrics fitted to my car not suiting the relays they use, He suggested I contact Citroen to see if they had come up with a relay that solves the problem. Have any of you had a towbar fitted ideally to a 2005 model and did you have any problems??I hope some of the above makes some kind of sense as I am not at all up to speed on car electrics. Many ThanksDel. Quote
Terry1100 Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Del, Mine is an '04 1.6 Petrol but I think the principles will be the same - the issue is the fact that the wiring is multiplexed. GT Towing of Potters Bar (Herts) fitted our towbar and electrics with no problems at all - and I quizzed them on the wiring before giving them the job as I had concerns. From memory, £190 "all in" fitted in about one and a half hours (just time to walk to the nearest pub and have lunch) Quote
Del Posted January 5, 2006 Author Posted January 5, 2006 Thanks for such a speedy reply I will contact some companies to get some quotes, at least I now know that it can be done without too many problems. Still on the same subject do you or anyone else know if it is possible to fit the Towbar (any make) without making a cut out in the bumper,as the vehicle is new it would be an advantage not to have to make a cut out in the bumper. Many ThanksDel Quote
Terry1100 Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Del, Yes again. GT Towing fit Witter towbars and there is no bumper cut on our Blingo. cheers The only thing to remember is that with a 4 bike Pendle rack on the back you shouldn't still put 60 bottles of wine and 48 bottles of cider in the back This Old Thread - reminds me of last summer. So have decided to take the car to them and as you suggested go for lunch at the local pub!!! Thanks againDel. Quote
