pork_pie Posted April 16, 2003 Posted April 16, 2003 Had a long chat with Citroen UK after visiting a different dealership close to Cotroen Manchester. Will post in the morning. The story never ends. Sorry to fart on about this but some of you need to know where you and your car end up when you fall foul of the system. I wish I could post something about a sunroof but nope. Quote
kelby Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 My sunroof hasnt leaked yet... but then again it hasnt rained either, I will let you know if I end up owning a mobile paddling pool. hey maybe the aircon would still work. It would be like having a jacuzzi... :) Kelby Quote
pork_pie Posted April 17, 2003 Author Posted April 17, 2003 I wish you all the luck in the world with your car mate, It seems you are free from trouble and all I can say is "You jammy git" Quote
mooseshaver Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 How is the car Porkie? Still awaitng the oil sensor, will ring grage today to see if its arrived. Had a saxo with a sundroof that never leaked in 3 years. Through the third year you could see it didn't fit as well as it did when I bought it. Quote
pork_pie Posted April 22, 2003 Author Posted April 22, 2003 The car is still a poor advert for Gallic engineering. Engine response still erratic. Idling speed fluctuates. Engine revs stick. Loss of power. Loss of Cruise control. The centre console buttons (child locks, overspeed) are losing their settings and the radio display shows outside temperature then the time (should read the time all the time until you press the button) I have had enough. Quote
mooseshaver Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 Which button shows the temp? does the SX do this? And the dealer still not sorted even now? What can we do? Dodgy C3 even makes a mention on the top gear site http://www.topgear.com/content/my_topgear/...ers/citroen/04/ not for bad running, just for parts availablilty. Quote
pork_pie Posted April 22, 2003 Author Posted April 22, 2003 The dashboard display above the centre vents. Theres two knobs. Temp is displayed by pressing the right hand button. I am stil waiting for this EGR that you had fitted. How long did you wait for yours? And it solved your power loss didnt it? Had the problem since Mar 10th and 4 visits later, the loser of a vehicle still aint right. Been waiting for the EGR valve for three f***ing weeks and fed a load of lies. Quote
mooseshaver Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 I know I waited for "Boost Electro Valves" from end of October to end of Feb. I can't remember what was fitted that made it work. I think it was the EGR, and it did hesitate a bit a cople of times and its now fine, although I think when its cold it does hesitate when accelerating, but its less than a second, its just not smooth. But it does it once in a blue moon. I don't think mine does temp. Will have to check. Quote
pork_pie Posted April 22, 2003 Author Posted April 22, 2003 You waited 4 bloody months for parts? That is sacrilege. Not sure what Boost Electro Valves do. Must have a look in my bok of knowledge. Got a call from the parts manager of Citroen Manchester. She said theyll arrive tomorrow. If not, I am goint to make a trip to the dealer and demand the parts arrive soon or a refund or (god forbid) a replacement. Quote
mooseshaver Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 "You waited 4 bloody months for parts?" Is that not normal for parts to arrive from France to UK? When I made enqiries about the parts, Citroen France didn't know when they were going to get the parts from the manufacturer. Quote
pork_pie Posted April 23, 2003 Author Posted April 23, 2003 months may be normal but bloody hell France is only 37 miles away via the channel. Theres Ferries and the sodding tunnel.I am gonna go to France in a big van and rather than stop off at a cash and carry, I am gonna raid their parts bin. I bet UK owners of Chryslers, Chevrolets, Tatas and Holdens get their parts quicker. Pony system for a pony company aka Citroen. The only thing French that works properly in England is Christophe Dugarry and I hate Birmingham City. Quote
mooseshaver Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 I would imagine that the country where the parent company is based gets the best priority. Perhaps thats what it is with Citroen. They keep all the good cars and spare parts for themselves. Maybe ouspare parts are the ones the French returned as faulty? Maybe the cars are not tested in our climate. Maybe they only work smoothly next to vinyards? Porkie, what do you rekkon happens when we get to 100 posts? Do we get another blue blob? Quote
pork_pie Posted April 23, 2003 Author Posted April 23, 2003 The system stinks mate it really does. Been told that the EGR will arrive on May 9th but the dealer wil be ringing Peugeot to see if they have any spares (knock one off a V reg 206 maybe) I am numb with disgust and minds in neutrakl as to what to do. This is not good enough. As for the extra blob for 100 posts....... we are doing well. At this rate, I'll have more blobs than a teenager with acne. Quote
mooseshaver Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 "dealer wil be ringing Peugeot to see if they have any spares (knock one off a V reg 206 maybe)" secondhand parts to fix your new car? I can imagine if it failed they would blame it on being a secondhand part and try to get out of fixing. dont trust citroen people anymore. Quote
kelby Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 I tried the thing to get the outside temperature... How? doesnt do anything when i press the right hand button next to the clock K Quote
mooseshaver Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 " I tried the thing to get the outside temperature... How? doesnt do anything when i press the right hand button next to the clock" Same here. Perhaps thats why the exclusive is more expensive Quote
Badlass Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 I think the temp thing only flashes at 3 degrees on the SX. I have the SX auto and the temp shows when you turn the ignition on and when you press either button on the read out. Quote
mooseshaver Posted April 25, 2003 Posted April 25, 2003 Mine is in today for the oil sensor, when I looked at the sheet the dealer had with the part that was ordered also mentioned a temperature sensor, so maybe mines duff. Quote
