Xantia 2.1 Td Immobilisor Issue

Hello,

I'm hoping that someone is able to help me on here, as i'm at my wits end with this bloody thing.

A few weeks ago I ran the battery flat on my Xantia whilst at work. Without realising, i'd left the interior light on and 8 hours later it was dead. At first i thought it wasomething far more serious as the dash board lit up like a christmas tree but after a jump start from a colleague, i was all good to go.

The following morning was the same story but this time nothing was left on - i figured it to be a dieing battery and purchased a new one.

With the old dead battery removed and the new one installed, the car now refuses to start.

Everytime i get into it, the alarm sounds (which can be easily silenced with the key inserted then hitting the buttom on the dash) but now the immobilisor key pad is doing something odd.

As per usual, I enter the code (its still set to 0000) and rather than the red light going out and then a green light coming on, the green lights comes on but the red light remains. I can crank the engine all i like but it refuses to start.

Since the only thing that has changed is the battery, could i have upset something without realising?

I need this car for work, as at the moment i'm stuck using my road legal track car for commuting and its killing me - both financially and physically (not in the least bit comfortable and drinks fuel like a demon).

Any help that anyone can offer is gratefully received.

Jenkins
