Guest Bigun Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Got a Berlingo Van (2002) and was towed home last week with a snagged/broken alternator belt. Towed it to the garage where the mechanic drove it onto the ramp and now it won't start at all. Diagnostic check was no help as there were no reading and it was suggested that it may have immobilised. The mechanic has now said that he doesn't know how to fix it and wants me to take it somewhere else! Has this mechanic damaged the engine by driving it onto his ramp? I've asked for a pressure test but they don't seem to want to do this and a second diagnostic chap has said that the engine failure is a coincidence and may be a sensor which he wants to take off the van and send to France! He even suggested that it could be linked to a gearbox problem but I've had no problems whatsoever with the gearbox. My brain has turned to mush over this and any advice would be greatly appreciated Quote
