buffalojam Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Can anyone tell me where the external temperature sensor is located on the C5. This is the one that measures the outside ambient temperature. many thanks Quote
Bassrock Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Right, My external temp sensor appears to be reading 10-15 deg higher that it should, certainly was not 29 deg C in bonnie scotland on 19 March 06. How do you test sensor eg how many volts per degree or how easy is it to change, looks a sod and can't figure out how to do it. Any advice out there. PS my fuel consumption appears to be increasing as well eg currently at 37.2 mpg (average average), normal was somehere around 39.2, but no engine management warning yet. Could the two be linked ?? cobbler Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Can anyone tell me where the external temperature sensor is located on the C5. This is the one that measures the outside ambient temperature. many thanksThanks for this info. Does anyone know if this external temperature device can have any effect on the car's internal heating controls? My external guage is currently reading 72 degrees C! Don't think this is quite right given the weather!! The only way I can get any warmth out of the heater is by turning it up to Max i.e.28 Degrees. Any help very appreciated. Quote

cobbler Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 are you sure it's 72 deg C and not 72 deg F ?Yes - definitely Centigrade. Infact it has recently increased to 75 degrees C. Globalwarming I suppose??Still can't get my heater to work though (except when turned to max - 28). Has nobody else experienced these phenomena? any advice etc. Thanks Quote
shallishanti? Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 There was a post answered by iannez somewhere about heater flap motor gears shearing (I think that was the gist). Some sort of modification kit required. Quote
Guest cxman Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 My friendly local Citroen specialist tells me that the climate control uses the external sensor to set itself. Hence, since my sensor also reads very high, the system assumes that incoming air is already at the selected temperature or above. He warned me that I might need some nipple protection (mine that is, not the sensor nipple) if I tried to use the air con , and that only maximum temperature on the dial would give any heating at all. Since the sensor displays rises and falls accurately, surely recalibration is possible, rather than soldering a new one in? Quote
